I entirely agree with Noam Dworman that every single footnote in a modern presentation ought to include a generous portion of the original context.  That’s why I created CiteIt!

My goal is to get Substack to adopt CiteIt because:

  • Substack has the largest critical mass of writers who might want this type of citation, other than academics, and academics seem pretty PDF-centric rather than HTML and seem fragmented between many different publishers/platforms.  They can come later.
